ABOUT

I have a BS in Earth Systems from UMass Amherst, where I focused on climate science as a path for myself. It was there that I discovered graphic design, as I worked as an outreach intern for the Climate Science Center at the college. Communicating through visualization became a passion for me. However I grew up never thinking that art was a field that you could realistically work in to make a living.

When I graduated I was very lucky to stumble into an internship that turned into a full-time job at a marketing agency as a graphic designer, proving myself wrong about being able to have a career being creative.

After a few years working at the agency full-time, I decided that I wanted to return to my roots in the sciences, and combine my honed skills as a graphic designer with my passion for important issues facing the globe today. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in the field of Data Visualization. My goal is to take complex information and create easy to understand graphics so the public can be just as in-the-know as the experts about topics that are important to our place in the world.

Currently while in school, I work as an adjunct faculty member at Greenfield Community College teaching business students about digital design, and work freelance for the marketing agency still. I take on many side projects as well to keep myself busy and to help pay for school and build my skillset even further, and in my free time I create physical art pieces to sell at craft fairs or just to enjoy myself. If you would like to reach out to me, please see my Contact page, or the information at the bottom of this page.
